Rev. Fr. Basil Abraham was ordained into the sacred priesthood on February 5, 2018, by His Eminence Mathew Mor Aphrem at Mannor St. George Bethlahem Jacobite Syrian Church, Fr. Basil brings a depth of experience and a heartfelt commitment to his ministry. Fr. Basil prepared for his calling with a Bachelor of Divinity from the esteemed MSOT Seminary, Mulanthuruthy. He also holds an M.Tech in Civil Engineering from MACE & MBITS, Kothamangalam, offering a unique blend of spiritual dedication and practical insight. His journey in service has included shepherding congregations as - Vicar at St. Mary's Church, Kallar, Munnar - St. Gregorios JSOC, Chennai - Vicar and Assistant Vicar roles at St. Mary's Church, Kambalikandam, and St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Church, Valara. Rooted in the Mylapore Diocese, his home parish is St. George Getheemon JSC, Punnekkadu. Rev. Fr. Basil Abraham is joyfully married to Reshma Ammayi from Thiruvalla. Together, they are raising their three wonderful children: Johaana Elza, Ilyaana Mariam, and Evaana Zera. |

Fr. Martin Jacob Babu (Markose) is the 37th priest of the Painumgal Family. Achen was born to very religious and devoted parents Commander Babu and Annamma of Vadakedath house, in Dallas, Texas. He at the age 6 was called to serve the Holy Altar in St. Ignatious Malankara Jacobite Syriac Christian Church on April 10, 1994 by the hands of Rev. Fr. Alias Aramath. He at the age of 16 was called and ordained as a Reader (Quroyo) on August 22, 2004 at St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church in Houston, Texas by the hands of H.E. Mor Theethose Yeldho Archbishop of Malankara Archdiocese of Syriac Orthodox Church in North America. As Sub-Deacon (Afudyaqno) on June 21, 2008 at St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral Manarcad, Kottyam by the hands of H.G. Mor Aphrem Mathews. As Full Deacon (M’shamshono) on January 4, 2014 at St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church in Paramus, NJ by the hands of H.E. Mor Theethose Yeldho. Dn. Martin Babu married Sruthi Jacob of Inchakkattu House, Velloor, belonging to St. Thomas Church Velloor, Kottayam in 2013. He did his liturgical studies under the guidance of Malphono Fr. Thomas Venkedath at St. Ignatius Elias III Syrian Orthodox Jacobite Kurisupalli in Thiruvanchur, Kottayam. He was called and ordained to the Holy Priesthood (Kashisho) at the age of 26 on December 27, 2014 at St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church, Houston, Texas. Achen and Kochamma are blessed with two children. Daughter Abigail Ann Babu and son Elijah Vadakedath Babu. Achen completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from University of Houston, and Master’s in Divinity from St. Mary’s Catholic Seminary of St. Thomas University in Houston, Texas. Achen is currently working as a Hospice Chaplain. Roles held in Diocese: 2011: Secretary to H.E. Theethose Yeldho Archbishop of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church in North America. 2011: Co-editor of Guide to the Holy Qurbana written by H.E.
